A crash course, from crash course! (and a bit of my insight ;)

We all learn TONS from Hank and Alex Green, especially since they proved their tremendous value during COVID times. And I personally couldn't help but get excited when I first scrolled through the different albums they had created together with topics like U.S history, and organic chemistry, I wanted to learn it all. But who has the time?? So for all you wannabe cinephiles out there, I simplified the film criticism album into a blog post!

- Film criticism is about thinking deeply in terms of how the movie works both to us as an audience member, but also within history and society. It's about 4 main things: understanding, deconstructing, feeling, and learning!

- It's important to figure out defining characteristics of the main characters early on so you can pay attention to their evolution as the movie progresses. Then take note of how that impacted you, the intended audience, and the movie.

- Note what aspects, scenes or themes portray the main idea/genre of the movie. For example, in Aliens, the camaraderie among the marines consistently adds a feel good aspect to an all around horror film, balancing it out.

- Movies are full of set-ups and pay-offs (whether good or bad) that define the main characters.
